Quantity estimates only

These tools estimate how much material you need. They do not design or specify a base, sub-base, footing, depth or structure, and nothing here is engineering, building-code or installation advice. Confirm base and depth requirements with your local building authority and your supplier's installation instructions before you order or build.

What that means per material

  • Gravel: the tool answers how much stone. It does not say what base a drive needs, whether it will drain, or whether it will carry a vehicle.
  • Mulch and soil: depth is an input. The tool prints no recommended depth, and no recommendation should be inferred from its defaults.
  • Sod: the tool does not say which grass suits your site, or how to prepare the ground.
  • Raised beds: the tool does not recommend a bed depth or a soil recipe. The blend presets are editable examples.

Prices are yours

No material price is published or implied. Every cost is the quantity multiplied by the price you entered, and the example prices in the form are sample values to start from.

Weight is information

Where a weight is shown, it is derived from the volume and a density row whose source, range and verification level are printed beside it. Weight is never used to decide a purchase quantity.
